Who is Bike Rescue?

Bike Rescue is a nonprofit founded in 2015 that is dedicated to saving bicycles. We started as a necessity for bicycle nonprofits and community shops that become saturated with used bike donations, while other charities struggle. Not many people think to donate bicycles to shelters or schools, but they often need them. Local transportation and law enforcement agencies get overloaded with bicycles as well, and while they do not want to throw them away, they simply do not have the resources to fill the little pockets of need around the community. That’s where Bike Rescue comes in.

What we do?

Bike Rescue acts as a bridge between extreme bicycle waste and needy charities. We were tired of seeing good bicycles shops and nonprofits become inefficient in helping the community because they were overloaded by one department. We take on the bicycle salvage and rescue so others may focus on bicycle classes, clinics, rides, open houses and fundraisers that all provide great services to the community. We are often even the ones to provide the bicycles for those rides, classes, and fundraisers!
